Week of June 14th, 2004

After driving through Zion and Brice
National Parks we stopped in a small town in Utah by the name of Boulder.
A quaint town and everyone friendly. I spotted this old uncared for
home and snapped it.

On our way towards Capital reef
National Park we came upon a heard of cows being herded from one pasture to
another. There were two cowboys on horseback and at their urging we
were finally able to continue on our way.

A view of Capital Reef from the
roadway.

Passing through Kansas we stopped in a
small town by the name of Bird City. This picture is of their City
Hall.

The Hartland of America, the thriving
plains of wheat.

This picture was taken in Lebanon,
Kansas and was also featured in the May, 2004 issue of the National
Geographic Magazine. Of note is the interesting way in which the
center of the US was determined. A balancing point of a map of the US
of equal density was used, clever!
