Being up early one
morning I was greeted but this magnificent sunrise. There will be more
sunrise and sunsets as this tale unfolds. Georges Pond is between the
towns of Ellsworth and Bar Harbor which is on Mount Desert Island.
This is also the location of Acadia National Park.
The following
pictures are just to show some of the changing conditions in the national
park.

On another day we
drove into the town of Ellsworth, pictured below, for a chowder festival.
A number of restaurants and locals present their best clam chowder for
sampling. Not only clam chowder was served but lobster, shrimp, and
fish. Needless to say our tummies were full.

In addition to the
chowder their were drawings, boat rides and a great band. This was our
first experience with this type of gathering and we look forward to more.
During the next few
day we traveled to a number of Lighthouses. I have included

signs to give them
their names for all but the last one below. This last lighthouse is
the Ft. Point Light and is a private residence.

The following
pictures were taken during walks in the forest near Georges Pond with the
following exception. The sail boat is on Penobscot Bay just off the
point of Fort Knox.
