The only difference between the male and female is size.  I could never tell which I was looking at.  This first grouping of pictures were taken on August 12th.

On the left is the Loon having a look below while the other photos show the Loon in the grooming mode.  This one below is often called the foot wag.

Since the latter part of June we have been looking for baby Loons.  Word had come to us that there had been only one chick sighted.  Due to a tragic loss of the parent the chick was captured and sent to a home to be raised and released.

While photographing the above my wife pointed to something in the distance...
