We are back out on the water early today in our quest to find the missing baby Loon.  It is a bright beautiful day on the Pond so I have high hopes.  As it turns out I found the Loon family but they were in an area that I was unable to get into.  Only the one chick was visible and I was soon to find out why they were where they were.

This fellow was flying about and I now understand what may have happened to the missing Loon chick.  It is natures way and the Eagle is a magnificent bird.  Today is the eleventh of September so I am sure the missing chick is gone.

I did get a few pictures of a different Loon and these are here for you to view.

The Loon is quite a bird and I hope to be able to share with you a photo of one in flight.  We don't see this too often and usually when I do, I am without camera or they are too far.  While I am saddened to have lost one of the Loon chicks I will continue to observe and photograph the remaining chick.
